Visakhapatnam: TDP national general secretary Nara Lokesh on Monday said the TDP-Jana Sena Party combine will stall the privatisation of Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL), the corporate entity of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant.
"If elected to power, we will convince the Centre to stop privatisation. If required we won't mind taking over RINL on behalf of the Andhra Pradesh Government," he said during a padayatra in Srikakulam district, which he undertook at the border town of Itchapuram on Sunday.
Exuding confidence that the people have already made up their mind to send Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy home, he said winds of change is blowing all over the State. He said the State has suffered a lot due to 'ill-conceived' policies of the YSRCP government and alleged the government for spending Rs 500 crore to construct a mansion at Rushikonda in Visakhapatnam as part of three-capital plan to house CM's camp office.
He said the TDP-JSP combine was firm in developing Amaravati as the single capital of the State, as envisaged by TDP national president N Chandrababu Naidu. Though the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs cleared the proposal for 100 per cent privatisation of RINL in January, 2021.
